Join Our Team

Welcome, and thanks for your interest in joining our team.

Bethesda Dog Walkers has been part of this community since 2009. We have been voted “Best of Bethesda” seven times because our clients trust us with their dogs like family, and we take that seriously. We are a small, close-knit team and we like it that way. We are also selective about who joins us, because the families we serve deserve consistency and so does the team we have built.

If you make it through this application and we bring you on, you will own a real route with real families who are counting on you. The dogs will learn your footsteps. The clients will message you like a friend. That kind of trust takes time to build, and we do not take it lightly when someone earns it.

We do not hire for experience. We hire for character. The best walkers we have ever brought on did not necessarily have the longest resumes. They were just honest, dependable people who genuinely loved dogs and showed up like they meant it.

This form has five written questions. They are not trick questions and there are no perfect answers. Take your time with them. The people who rush through tend to show us exactly that.

We are rooting for you!

This role involves walking multiple dogs outdoors in all weather, navigating steps and uneven terrain, cleaning up waste, and occasionally lifting dogs up to 50 lbs. Some dogs are strong pullers and others can be reactive around unfamiliar dogs or people. We do not work with aggressive dogs, but you should be comfortable and confident handling dogs with big personalities. Are you physically able and willing to do all of this?(Required)
This is a year-round outdoor position. Rain, humidity, snow, cold, heat... all of it. Are you genuinely comfortable with that?(Required)
We invest real time in training every person we bring on. In return, we ask for a minimum six month commitment. Can you agree to that?(Required)
Which days are you reliably available?(Required)
Of the days you selected above, how many can you commit to with near certainty, meaning you could hold this schedule consistently for months without it changing?(Required)
Starting pay is $18 per hour with the potential to reach $22 per hour for walking roles, and higher for administrative responsibilities. Hours typically range from 15 to 25 per week depending on your availability and route. Does this work for you?(Required)
Our team occasionally handles evening and weekend requests. No single person carries that load. It gets shared across the team and scheduled well in advance so you always know what's coming. Does occasional evening and weekend coverage work for you?(Required)
Do you have a valid driver's license, and a safe, reliable, insured vehicle that is consistently available for dog walking or transporting dogs?(Required)
Do you own a smartphone with reliable cell coverage?(Required)

You must also submit information for a criminal history background check, motor vehicle records check, and work history verification, as well as provide professional references. Do you understand and agree to these requirements?(Required)
