Our Story

Our company was founded in 2009 by Jackie Fahr and Nancy Grunley, who were formerly part of the DogOn Fitness family (who are still in operation under new ownership). From 2009 to 2023, Jackie, Nancy, and their team were recognized as the “Best of Bethesda” seven times while serving thousands of pets.

When it was time for Jackie and Nancy to retire, Jackie’s son, Dave Peterson, purchased the business and branched off to start Bethesda Dog Walkers. Dave worked for the business in its early days.

Today, Dave is committed to furthering the company values established by its founders. He is dedicated to meeting the ever-changing needs of Bethesda area dog lovers and serving the community he loves.

Meet Our Owner

Dave Peterson graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 2003 and started working for Bethesda Dog Walkers the following summer. When the opportunity came up to step in and run the company, Dave jumped at the chance!

Born and raised in Bethesda, Dave is now raising his family here. He and his wife and two children love to explore local trails and landmarks together. Dave also enjoys dog walking adventures with his canine clients, taking in our area’s rich culture, history, and diverse greenscapes.
